Bouygues Construction, a world leader in the building, civil works, energy and services markets have their Headquarters located in Challenger in Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, France. Challenger is the first building to achieve a triple certification, awarded three of the highest environmental ratings with LEED ‘Platinum’, BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and HQE ‘Exceptional’.
With completion due in 2014, the offices in their three main buildings will feature 25,000m² of SAS International’s SAS130 suspended metal ceilings.
Both functional and aesthetically pleasing in design, SAS130 ceiling solution incorporates sound absorbing pads to provide outstanding acoustic control.
SAS130 tiles were specified as lifecycle cost considerations meant metal tiles were more attractive than products with higher maintenance liability. The lifespan of an SAS metal ceiling is in excess of 25 years and its polyester powder coating ensures excellent durability as it is not susceptible to paint chipping, accidental damage, and has a high level of scratch resistance.
SAS130 is a demountable flush tile that is particularly suitable for commercial environments where access into the ceiling void is required. Tiles can be supplied plain or in a range of perforation patterns. SAS International manufactured the ceiling tiles with pre-cut apertures for luminaires, fire detection and control systems where required, reducing on-site wastage and installation time.
