Bespoke lighting and service channels feature internally and externally at The Souk, Central Market.
Bespoke lighting and service channels, as well as metal ceilings for the lift lobby areas, were manufactured for The Souk, Central Market, Abu Dhabi.
With many unusual shapes and specifications involved in The Souk’s design, SAS International was actively involved in the design and manufacture of these architectural metalwork solutions for both internal and external applications.
Manufactured from steel the service channels provide a discreet integration detail running at ceiling height along each walkway. The lighting and service channels were finished in a polyester black power coating to provide long term, easy to maintain durability.
The lift lobby’s feature SAS International SAS330 metal ceilings, to provide acoustic performance while providing secure but accessible service voids.
Hailed in the architectural world for its unique mix of modern and traditional architecture, the development, designed by Foster + Partners is located at the heart of the city’s commercial district and on the site of the Emirate’s oldest bazaar, which was destroyed by a fire in 2003.
