SAS International is proud to have contributed to the new Melbourne head office of Stantec, located at Level 28, 600 Bourke Street. Designed by PTID, the workplace embodies modern approaches to office design, prioritising flexibility, collaboration and multifunctionality. It balances spaces for focused work with areas for social interaction and wellbeing and includes a multi-faith room, wellness room and quiet areas to create a holistic environment that supports the diverse needs of staff.
Within this forward-thinking concept, the ceiling played a crucial role in balancing technical performance with architectural expression. SAS International supplied the SAS800 metal ceiling system, a modular open cell solution known for its strength, adaptability and clean aesthetic.
For Stantec, the system was adapted with sweeping, curved elements that add a sculptural quality to the interior. These elegant curves soften the ceiling plane and create a sense of movement, defining circulation paths and enhancing the overall spatial experience.
The SAS800 ceiling integrates seamlessly with lighting, HVAC and building services, while maintaining accessibility for future maintenance and adjustments. The result is a dynamic design feature that performs to the highest standards whilst enriching the character and atmosphere of the workplace.
The Stantec Melbourne office fit-out, designed by PTID, is a strong example of how carefully considered ceiling systems can go beyond functionality, helping to transform interiors into inspiring, people-centred environments.
