R3 LLC, the international blockchain and DLT software development firm, employed architect Corgan Associates for the relocation of their NYC offices.
The offices were moved from 11 West 42nd Street to the 34th Floor of 1155 Avenue of the Americas. With a brief to create a sense of continuity across all their offices, the design thoughtfully combines an open floor plan, while including a range of meeting areas and intimate breakout rooms. A beautiful café and bar are highlights to the project, as well as the Moon Room, complete with a constellation light display in the ceiling.
SAS International were approached by Corgan to provide durable and accessible ceiling systems that could offer excellent acoustical properties, finished in both black and white. The final design incorporated the SAS130 ceiling system, which SAS supplied complete with corresponding ‘Alugrid’ and a range of perimeter mouldings, both color-matched to the ceiling panels.
Corgan commented, ‘We chose to use SAS because of our past experiences working with them and their products. We needed a high-performance acoustic ceiling and they had the perfect product for the job.’
The project was completed in 2020.
