KPMG’s “Workplace of the Future” initiative is set up to enhance employee productivity, connectivity and social interaction. To achieve these aims, SAS International supplied a variety of attractive and acoustic products to complete the new KMPG office fit-out in Glasgow.
SAS740 linear profiles were specified by the architects in corridors and entrances to provide visual impact. Fitted between black perforated infill tiles, SAS740 can achieve Class A acoustic absorption essential for workplace productivity. Creating a calm and attractive environment is important for maintaining staff satisfaction and improving staff retention. Specified in bright white, this ultra-modern system offers void access and service integration.
In addition to the linear ceilings, bespoke wall panelling was specified in corridors and stairwells. Chosen for its clean and minimal appearance, architectural metalwork like this can also be specified for acoustic absorption and to provide access to M&E services.
SAS130 lay-in tiles provide quick access to important M&E services concealed within the void. With a minimum 25 year product life expectancy, tiles can be regularly removed for maintenance without the need for tools. A popular ceiling for the commercial sector, SAS130 also provides Class A acoustic absorption to the open office areas.
Juxtaposing the linear aesthetic of the offices, jet black and metallic mesh panels were used in staff café areas. Effectively obscuring the soffit and services behind, SAS200 mesh tiles in a clear PPC were fitted under each light to illuminate the tile and space below. The black latticed look effectively contrasts with the white and pastel café furnishings creating a more informal and open environment.
Recognised as one of the best workplaces in Scotland, the project spans three Grade A office floors of the new St Vincent Plaza. Winner of a BCO Scottish Award, the scheme is also nominated for the National BCO Workplace Fit Out Award. SAS International has been supplying to commercial offices for more than 49 years and has contributed to more than twenty KPMG office fit-outs worldwide.
