Ceiling Innovation Meets Interior Elegance at Kokoda’s Flagship Office
The refined transformation of the Melbourne headquarters of boutique developer Kokoda Property has resulted in a new workspace for staff that reflects the brand’s premium identity. Collaborating with MBS Architectural and Aflux Interiors, SAS International’s objective was to deliver a ceiling solution that not only met functional requirements but also enhanced the project's refined materiality and spatial rhythm.
Central to this project was the installation of our the SAS200 concealed grid ceiling system, featuring HM63 (hexagon medium 63% open area) mesh. The Kokoda office fit-out was the first time SAS International’s HM63 profile was used in an Australian commercial project.
The mesh profile was chosen due to its tight, directional aperture that creates a dynamic ceiling plane that appears both open and closed, depending on the viewer’s perspective. This unique feature adds depth and texture without overwhelming the interior's soft, natural palette.
In addition, the combination of a superior Interpon Vivica Nobel Silver Pearl Satin Finish and the benefits of a concealed grid system resulted in a clean, seamless ceiling appearance, aligning with the project's minimalist design intent provided by architects Carr & Studio McCue.
The HM63 mesh contributed to the dynamic visual experience for users of the space including enhancing the overall ambiance.
