SAS International’s SAS330 was specified for the laboratory and office areas at GlaxoSmithKline Laboratories in Paris. The three-storey 8,300m² building houses pharmaceutical R&D facilities for scientists and researchers working in the areas of diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia.
SAS330 is a lay-in metal ceiling tile system, that provides functionality and outstanding performance for a range of cost-effective design options. The practical nature of its structure allows ease of construction and maintenance.
Laboratories require more mechanical and electrical services than commercial office buildings. SAS330 ceiling system was designed to accommodate bespoke integration points with these services, including gas, air and power. With the services being housed in the ceiling void, SAS330 enables rapid changes to equipment in the laboratory, as the tiles can be easily and frequently moved without damage.
SAS150 was chosen for the main entrance corridors because, unlike the laboratory areas, minimal access is needed but it also provides essential acoustic control.
