SAS worked closely with architects Henry J Lyons on this project. Conor MacCabe, Project Director comments: “The reasons for specifying SAS International SAS330 for this project were its appearance, flexibility, the quality of the ceiling system and its ability to align with the construction programme.

The ability to deliver the product for a quick fit-out programme was an advantage. SAS330 allowed the contractor to install the ceiling in two phases. The central channel was installed initially, providing a zone to allow partitions to be fixed in parallel with the above ceiling services installation, and this allowed the tiles to be installed closer to completion.

Dummy linear grilles were installed to vertical bulkhead faces and designed as a feature in the boardroom.

Apertures for luminaires and other services are factory formed reducing on site wastage and installation time. However for this project a prefabricated solution was specified with air diffusers factory integrated into the rear of the ceiling tile. This facilitated the speed and ease of installation, and created build efficiencies for the fit-out of the initial office suites. This also gave the architect a flush flangeless interface, therefore maintaining the clean lines of the SAS330.

SAS330 is a lay-in metal ceiling tile system that provides functionality and outstanding performance for a range of cost effective design options. The practical nature of its structure allows ease of construction and maintenance.

Supported from a C-Profile suspension grid, 1200mm x 300mm tiles were specified for the project to meet the building module size.

SAS330 can be designed to fit any building grid size as tiles are available in square, rectangular, mega panels, curved and trapezoidal form to meet individual project requirements.

The ceiling systems were installed on all floors of the seven storey building. The result was a modern ceiling system offering smooth clean lines and a sophisticated yet practical finish.
