@Waterloo combines Lewis Caroll’s imaginings with Grade A office space. The project architects, Peldon Rose, were given the brief “quirky and interesting”. They took their initial inspiration from Waterloo’s hat-making heritage and the nearby Mad Hatter’s Hotel.

SAS International had previously worked with Peldon Rose on 20 Little Britain, winning the specification based on their innovative design led approach and system quality. For this project SAS supplied SAS120 metal ceilings in a black and white checkerboard style, replicating the famous chess scene from Alice In Wonderland.

SAS330 was specified along the corridors, in a stark white, gloss finish. The slightly uneasy, dream-like experience this simulates aims to recreate the effect of looking down the rabbit hole. SAS330 also featured in black gloss in a number of other themed meeting rooms often with china teapot lights hanging from the ceiling.

In addition, 2000m² of SAS130 has been installed in the offices upstairs, providing an acoustic ceiling with easy access to services.

The intriguing business centre offers alternative collaboration spaces and an impressive media lounge. There are six themed meeting rooms to choose from, designed to encourage collaboration and creativity. The offices upstairs are more subtle, but the overall Alice theme is still evident from paintings found along the corridors.
