Leading commercial property investment manager, Orchard Street, is nearing completion of the newly remodelled and upgraded Bauhaus. Located on Quay Street, Bauhaus is a prime Grade A office building with creative, functional spaces that emphasises workability and amenity. 

Working alongside architects, Space Invader Design, SAS330 mesh raft was specified to achieve the client’s brief of an open soffit aesthetic that allows subsequent partitioning for future tenants. Mesh was selected as it exposes the soffit whilst allowing integrations and creating an on-trend modern look.

Contributing to the contemporary look of Bauhaus, the mesh panels installed in the office areas were finished in white PPC and surrounded by contrasting C-Profiles finished in dark grey PPC. Within the mesh raft, wider C-Profiles and odd-leg perimeter profiles were incorporated to enable fixing points for partitioning and also lighting integration. 

Appointed by Ardmac Performance Contracting Ltd, HCIP carried out the full ceiling works for the project including all the raft set outs, installation of rafts, SAS740 and SAS330. 

SAS330 a highly popular system due to its integration offering and acoustic capabilities was installed in the main communal and kitchen areas. In the kitchen area, the tiles were perforated with 22% open area and padded to provide efficient absorption of sound.

In the bathrooms, SAS740 with acoustic infill panels were specified. This provided both acoustic support as well as a geometric and premium aesthetic.

This high specification commercial space is set to complete at the end of 2018 with target to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ and WELL IWBI certification of ‘Gold.’
