LONDON BRIDGE STATION WINS ‘BUILDING OF THE YEAR’ AT THE AJ100 AWARDS 2019<\/h2>\n \n

London Bridge station wins ‘Building of the Year’ at the AJ100 Awards 2019<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n\n

The redevelopment of London Bridge station has won the prestigious \u2018Building of the Year\u2019 accolade at this year\u2019s AJ100 awards held at an exclusive gala dinner and awards ceremony in the Tower of London on Wednesday 19 th June 2019.<\/p>\n

Designed by Grimshaw Architects, and containing striking architectural metalwork manufactured and installed by SAS International, London Bridge station was the \u2018natural winner\u2019; commended for its sustainability, ingenuity and modest grandeur.<\/p>\n

Judges praised all those involved in the design and installation, using the project\u2019s superior design and delivery as an example of construction at its very finest. The judges celebrated Grimshaw\u2019s original design, explaining it \u2018reconnects the tissue of the city\u2019, in what has now become a core civic environment for London\u2019s population.<\/p>\n

Speaking on SAS International\u2019s crucial involvement in the London Bridge station project, Construction Director, Rik Lenney said: \u201cWe are delighted London Bridge station has won another incredible accolade. An outstanding achievement for all those involved\u201d<\/p>\n

Grimshaw Architects were also recipients of the \u2018Practice of the Year\u2019 award at the AJ100 ceremony. The UK\u2019s largest architecture awards, the annual AJ100 awards honour excellence in architecture.
