The world\u2019s leading manufacturer of acoustic ceiling solutions, SAS International, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year \u2013 a remarkable achievement that is testament to the company\u2019s commitment to innovation investment and world-class engineering.<\/p>\n

SAS International was founded in 1968 by Eddie McElhinney who initially ran the business from his front room. All he needed was a telephone, a typewriter and the vision to change the face of performance ceiling specification from mineral to metal. Fast forward 50 years and the company operates international offices and factories supplying the most architecturally renowned projects globally.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur 50th birthday gives us a great excuse to celebrate all our achievements with the people that make it happen \u2013 our brilliant employees,\u201d said Siobhan McElhinney, Chairman of SAS International . \u201cWe are all incredibly proud of what SAS represents \u2013 a UK manufacturer which employs people right across the UK and beyond, and works on the most prestigious buildings all over the world. The pioneering spirit of our employees has led us to great success and SASFest gave us a chance to recognise this\u201d.<\/p>\n

Best known for its award-winning metal ceiling systems, its interior products can be seen in landmark projects worldwide including the RIBA Stirling prize winning Bloomberg European HQ, Muscat International Airport in Oman, Barangaroo South in Sydney and the new Kowloon MTR underground station in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

Commenting on future growth plans for SAS International, McElhinney added: \u201cThe demand from clients, developers and their architectural teams is for ever more complex solutions \u2013 whether it is for integration of services, new aesthetics and materials or prioritising sustainability.
