SAS Products are Made for Generations

SAS International is a specialist designer and manufacturer of architectural ceilings and metalwork.

We were founded in 1968 by Eddie McElhinney, who initially ran the business from his front room. Armed with just a telephone, a typewriter and a clear vision, he set out to change the face of performance ceiling specification from mineral to metal.

Today, SAS operates globally and is still a family-owned business with a mission to advocate for metal ceilings. Our heritage provides decades of experience in design, supply and installation. Looking ahead, our Cradle to Cradle certified manufacturing practices make us the reliable choice for a more sustainable future.

Culture & Community at SAS

SAS is a place where people can be their best.

We have developed a collaborative and purposeful culture that celebrates collective success and invests in individual development. We care deeply about our impact – not just on the projects we deliver, but on the people involved in them and the local communities in which we operate.

SAS International is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion within its workforce by ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed and fulfil their potential. We not only need the best and the brightest people working with us, but teams that bring together a variety of experience and perspective, that challenge the status quo, innovate and push each other to be better every day.

SAS is proud to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation as a Living Wage employer, seeing the Living Wage Accreditation as a force for good, providing an ethical benchmark for responsible pay. Employers choose to pay the Real Living Wage on a voluntary basis. Being part of the Living Wage campaign represents what can be achieved when businesses, civil society and organisations work together to highlight and tackle problems.

We commit to our team and their communities through apprenticeship and graduate programmes, and continued training & development schemes. SAS is proudly a long term employer in these locations, and we have celebrated many 30+ and 40+ year service awards.

The SAS Mindset

Our business is defined by our people, our products and the projects to which we contribute. The SAS Mindset draws these factors together, making sure we bring our best, every day.

We value partnership. Face-to-face and across the globe. From design ideation to deep technical expertise – we work closely with our customers to deliver spaces with a difference.

We operate purposefully, using time and resources effectively to create success. We have a can-do mindset, and we get things done.

We believe that every ceiling makes a difference. The SAS team has a passion for what we do, a joy in doing it and a commitment to doing it well.

We care about our impact. On the projects we deliver, and the people involved in them. On the communities in which we operate. And about our footprint on the planet.

Every material specified must stand up to long-term scrutiny in functionality, compliance and durability.

SAS is constantly driving new thinking in material selection and circularity. We hold Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Silver certification across the majority of our products, and are actively investing in improved processes.
