An Open Framework for Innovation
The 42,000 SF Daily Mail headquarters at 51 Astor Place in New York City reflects the company’s forward-thinking, digital-first identity. Designed by TPG Architecture, the space prioritizes collaboration and innovation, incorporating several SAS mesh ceiling systems to create an open, airy atmosphere while providing visual definition and structure throughout the workplace.
Balancing Accessibility and Aesthetics with Mesh
SAS collaborated with the project team to integrate mesh ceiling solutions throughout the Daily Mail’s office corridors, balancing practical building requirements with a cohesive, contemporary aesthetic. SAS 200 Mesh Fused, SAS 205 and SAS 600 Mesh Fused systems were strategically incorporated to provide convenient access to building services and mechanical systems while maintaining a sense of openness throughout the space. The mesh designs allow air and light to flow freely, creating an airy, uncluttered environment that complements the headquarters’ forward-thinking design. The result is a functional, visually cohesive corridor system that supports ongoing building maintenance without compromising the open, modern atmosphere envisioned for the Daily Mail team.
